Candle care
During your first light, burn the candle until the wax melts across the entire surface (up to the sides of the vessel) as this will prevent tunnelling and create an even burn for the duration of your candle's life. This can take anywhere between 2-4 hours, but trust us - it will make your candle last longer. Trim. Trim. Trim. We cannot express how important maintaining your wick length before each burn is to getting the most out of your candle and keeping your home safe. Since Braided Cotton Wicks contain more heat, the shorter the better to avoid high flames and unnecessary soot. Wicks only need to be approximately 6mm in length. Efficient burning is when your candle flame is teardrop shaped, upright and has a natural flicker. If you notice your candle flame smokes, drastically flickers, or has a higher flame than normal - extinguish, let cool, trim the wick & re-light. It is important candles are not burnt when there is 10mm or less of wax remaining in your vessel. When there is not enough wax left to absorb the heat of the flame, it can cause the glass vessel to crack after an extended period of time.
